Mold
Remediation
Mold poses serious health risks and spreads quickly in damp environments. Our certified team safely contains, removes and prevents mold — protecting both your structure and your family.
Mold Is a Symptom — We Treat the Cause
Mold doesn't appear without a moisture source. Removing visible mold without addressing why it grew guarantees it returns. Our process starts with finding the moisture problem, then safely containing and removing the mold using HEPA filtration and negative-pressure containment to prevent spores from spreading.
We finish with antimicrobial treatment and prevention guidance, and where moisture damage requires it, full restoration backed by Madison Ave Construction.
Don't disturb visible mold. Scrubbing or brushing mold releases spores into the air and spreads contamination to other areas of your property.

Signs You May Have a Mold Problem
Mold often grows out of sight. These are the signs that warrant a professional inspection.
Visible Growth
Black, green or white patches on walls, ceilings, grout or around windows — even small visible spots usually indicate a larger hidden colony.
Musty Odor
A persistent earthy, damp smell is one of the most reliable signs of mold, even when no growth is visible to the eye.
Past Water Damage
Any area that has flooded, leaked or stayed damp for more than 24–48 hours is a prime candidate for hidden mold growth.
Health Symptoms
Unexplained allergy-like symptoms — congestion, coughing, irritated eyes or worsening asthma — that ease when you leave the property.
Staining & Discoloration
Water stains, bubbling paint or warped surfaces often hide active mold growth in the material behind them.
Humidity & Condensation
Chronic high humidity, condensation on windows or a damp basement creates exactly the conditions mold needs to thrive.

Mold Remediation & Insurance
Mold coverage depends heavily on the cause. When mold results from a sudden, covered event — like a burst pipe — remediation is often covered. When it stems from long-term, unaddressed moisture, coverage is usually limited. Establishing the cause and timeline correctly is critical.
We document the moisture source and the conditions that led to the growth, and coordinate with your adjuster to present the claim accurately.
When Mold Is Covered
If mold results directly from a covered water loss that was addressed promptly, remediation is frequently included. We document the link between the water event and the growth.
The Importance of Acting Fast
Delays give carriers reason to attribute mold to neglected maintenance rather than a covered event. Prompt mitigation and documentation protect your claim.
Clearance Testing
Independent post-remediation verification confirms the area is clean — protecting both your health and your records for the claim and any future sale.

Mold Remediation FAQs
Straightforward answers to what property owners ask us most.
Can't I just clean mold with bleach myself?
Surface bleaching may hide mold temporarily but doesn't address the root in porous materials or the moisture source — so it returns. DIY scrubbing also releases spores into the air and spreads contamination. Professional containment and removal is the lasting fix.
How do you stop the mold from coming back?
By treating the cause, not just the symptom. We identify and help correct the moisture source — a leak, humidity, poor drainage — because remediation without fixing the moisture problem never holds.
Is mold actually dangerous to my health?
It can be. Mold exposure commonly triggers allergy and asthma symptoms, and some people are more sensitive than others. Removing it safely, with proper containment and filtration, protects everyone in the building.
Will you need to remove drywall and materials?
Sometimes. Mold that has grown into porous materials like drywall and insulation usually can't be cleaned in place and must be removed. Non-porous surfaces can often be cleaned and treated. We remove only what's necessary.
